Another month has passed. Haha. Life's been pretty ok. Another month closer to my ORD! Haha. That's the most motivating thing in life now bahz. Haha. Alright. Oh I'm finally CPL PS TAN! Haha. Yes finally. They refuse to let us take IPPT at the 1 yr mark. So ended up dragging for a long time. Haha. ATP's done too. Didn't get marksman. But oh well, haha.. It's ok. Oh and finally done sending my vehicle to preservation le. It's a traumatising experience. Weeks of breaking track, due to the very very limited manpower. And the washing, greasing and everything. Pretty hard work. Oh and not to mention, the statements and settling of OVM. More than glad that everything's almost done. Oh and I guess hard work brings out the ugliest side of people. There's the "stand there looking at the sky and I don't feel guilty even if the whole world is working" look, the "I'm supposed to book in at 8am so if 8am then start work, then I should just excuse myself even if I reach early" attitude. Oh there's also the "I tell you straight in the face that I will report sick tomorrow even if I'm not sick coz I don't wanna work.. and you can do absolutely nothing about it" attitude. In NS, it's really discouraging even if you try to do your best, coz no one else gives a damn. People there tend to be fake to some extent, and weirder to a much greater extent. Some times you wonder how these people will survive in the corporate world that's waiting for them, and it makes you worry for your future. Imagaine if your colleagues are all like that. If working in NS for 2 years is bad enough, imagine many more years in the working world. Gosh. This is depressing. Was talking to a friend about it. It's sad. It's quite a common phenomena, no matter what level of management you're at in NS. It just proves my belief that signing on is simply not my cup of tea. And I've made the right choice.

But then again, on the positive side, it can't get any worst than that.

Hmm.. what else.. Oh yes, Went night cycling for the 1st time. Haha. With TMS people. It was a damn tiring day sia. Went for 10km run with my dad in the evening, before going for like an almost 40km cycle. Haha. But it was great fun though. Haha. Haven't gone out with them for quite some time le. It's really fortunate to still be in contact with friends many years after graduation. Haha. Oh and the youtiao and soy bean milk at geylang is pretty good! Haha. Great.

Oh and regular meet-ups with JC peeps. Haha. I'm so sorry for yesterday! Pangseh-ed ya guys! Was damn tired and wanted to book my driving. But something unfortunate happened. Oh wells. Wasted trip. And you guys never tell me you all going shukodu! If not I would have flew there! Haha. Hmm.. Now I'm hungry! Haha. Lets organise another foody outing! Haha. I so crave for good food! =X

Just went Parkway to get CD's. Bought Tank's new album 第三回合,and Rainie's album 半熟宣言. Bought the latter since it was on discount and quite worth it. Haha. Both albums are great, especially Tank's 全世界都停电, Rainie's 带我走 and 冷战. Haha. Niceeee. Tank has been MIA for quite some time due to health problems and stuff, but this album's quite worth the wait. Oh and Rainie's move away from her cutie-pie image and moving on to a more mature lady is indeed encouraging with improved vocals and style. Niceee. Haha.

Oh from the crowd at Parkway, I really can't see that Singaporeans are badly hit by the economic crisis. And so much for the H1N1 swine flu. What the hell. Haha. Crowd plus confined space equates to excellent proliferation and infection of viruses. Haha. But whether there's the swine flu pandemic or not, I hate crowds. Oh well.

Oh and the Black forest ice blended coffee from The Coffee Bean tastes absolutely weird. Haha. Still prefer my white chocolate ice blended coffee. LOL. Ok totally random. Haha.

Tank's 第三回合

Rainie's 半熟宣言

Ok nowadays training for Army Half Marathon (AHM). Haha. Have been trying to diligently run regularly. Started off this week with 7km runs on Tues and Thurs, followed by 10km run on Sat. Haha. Really tiring sia. But I guess it's a dream I really want to accomplish, to run a full marathon preferably by next year. Haha. Really shagged out. Haha. The initial stage of running is tough, but around midway through, it gets really mechanical and that's when it gets easier. Haha.

Oh and sadly I didn't get either the Firefly or NUS scholarship. Sad lah. But what I guess it's just too bad. Haha. Didnt get apply for the others because I feel that the job commitment attached to it is more important. I don't wanna get bonded to something that I don't like, or at least don't see myself working as in the future. Haha. Nothing much to get upset about. NUS is more than fine with me. Haha. Oh and I can still support myself coz it's local studies. So I'm really fine with it.

Wanna start planning on my ORD holiday soon. Haha. The economy's pretty bad, so I guess travelling wouldn't cost as much as before. Perfect. Haha. Taiwan? HK? Korea? All's great. Haha. Start planning! Haha. Oh and gotta start revising some of my work soon. If not how am I supposed to do relief teaching after I ORD? Haha. Things will only get better. I hope. Haha.

Alright, so much for now.

Oh and Happy 20th Birthday Betsy!

Omg. The noise from the construction next door is killing me. Can't sleep late into the morning. Haiz. Feeling sulky. Haha. Anyways ippt is finally over. Haha. Nice. And ATP's coming up next. But then again, getting confined over the weekend ain't that nice. Haha. Lucky there's a labour day to break the long 2 weeks. Haha.

Anyway my entire week is spent changing tracks. Damn tiring, expecially under the very very very, and I can't emphasize more, very hot sun. These days the sun is really scorching. Just one day breaking track under the sun and I'm burnt. lol. But then again, I get sunburnt super easily. Haha. Oh wells.

Oh and I finally know why my Debit card can't work le! I never activate it! LOL. I feel so retarded. Think I'm becoming stupider by the days. LOL

I'm still waiting..

Life's been pretty stale. It's been really boring ever since. Nothing much to do. Lets take a typical week. On weekdays I would probably rot away in camp, doing nothing except BOS, running/gym, cards and TV. Then comes the weekends. I would probably go out on one of the days and the rest of the time would be spent lazing at home or at my dad's shop. LOL. Pretty routine life.. Sian-ified. Really can't wait till after I ORD. Life's so much more than NS. LOL.

Took off tmr. So not going back to camp tonight.. Great another good night's sleep at home. Haha. But tmr's not gonna be an enjoyable day. Prays hard.

Yesterday went for FireFly - EDB scholarship interview round 1. The email stated that it was an interview "to get to know me better". Haha. But it was far more than that loh! Haha. Anyways reached the place super early. Thought I needed some time to find the place, but who knows it was that accessible. Haha. So settled down at Starbucks to have a nice warm cup of Vanilla Latte and read through some of my stuff. Haha. Then I went up. It's like the top floor of Raffles City Tower loh! The view was damn nice. And so was the place! The place was damn modern, with brightly coloured couches and sofas. Was really attracted to such an environment man! Haha. Waited for quite a while since I was super early. Anyways there was only one interviewer, but she really asked alot of questions man! Haha. Though it was quite a casual interview, I thought I didn't do too well. Spoke really fast man, especially at the start coz I was pretty nervous. Haha. But as the interview proceeded, I began to feel more comfortable. Anyway doesn't matter. Just hope I get to the next round. Heard there's like 3 to 4 rounds. Xiong sia!

Anyways Vincent and Joe also got into Imperial College le! Wahaha. I've got companion! Haha. Joe getting A*Star, while Vin getting DSTA or SembCorp I think. So wish everyone luck!

I seriously NEED a scholarship! *Prays really hard*

Oh today's damn sian lah. Nothing to do. So went to buy lunch for my family today. LOL. Went to opposite TJC the hawker there to buy. Such nostalgia. Remember those JC days where the hawker used to satisfy almost all my lunches. HAha. And TJC havent changed much.. other then they painting the buildings and looking much better. Haha. The good old JC that haven't changed much through 30 plus years of history. Haha. I just miss those days.

Haiz. The wait is torturous. I can't believe I waited like 4 months for my A level results! Please Email me quick! =X

I'm finally home!

At long last. Haha. 1 month passed pretty quickly. Can't say much about the trip here, but all I can say is that I pretty much enjoyed it. It was really fun most of the time, but then again, there are times of extreme boredom, when the only people to talk to is old uncles and dogs. LOL. But all the shopping and theme parks were great. Haha. The Taiwanese are too very nice people. Haha. Haha. Good trip. I really would want to go Taiwan again.. Haha.

But quite a number of things happened when I was away. 1st was the Imperial College interview. I missed it lah! I was damn scared that they would reject me based on that alone. So I sent them an email stating my reason. They said that they would TRY to give me a place based on results and my records alone. That sounded totally hopeless lah, considering the number of international applicants. But I was elated a few days later when they told me that the Dean of Engineering was satisfied with my records to grant me unconditional admission! That feeling was damn shiok man. Haha. I got in! Wahahaha. But then the issue of financial support struck me. I need a scholarship man! And these overseas ones are pretty difficult to get. Haiz. Suddenly had mixed feelings about my admission to ICL. But just as I was reading through the email, EDB emailed me. They had shortlisted me to go for an interview. Suddenly there was a ray of hope. Haha. But unfortunately, it was on the 23rd of March, and I was still in Taiwan. But luckily the could reschedule it, unlike the ICL one. Haha. Going for it on this Monday. I'm pretty stressed up over it. Haven't got a good experience in an interview. Exxonmobil one was TERRIBLE. Sad. Ok whatever. Just hope things turn out real fine.

Oh and I am damn retarded man. I actually locked myself out of my SIM card in Taiwan! I think I'm a genius. Seriously. I was talking one night with CK and Nic, and then I started playing with my phone, and in just FIVE MINUTES, poof. I was locked out. Damn stupid. But thank god for the pay phone in Taiwan. (and thanks to Maurice, Nic and CK for their phones. hahah) Ok so I had to spend $18 to get a new SIM card today. Went down to Parkway to get it done. Damn sian. haha. Anyway I can really understand why people keep saying that Singapore change really rapidly. Just 1 month and all the condominiums around Katong and East Coast are all completed. Haha. Ok then bought my favourite Iced White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks. Haha. Really feels like home. Haha. But the prices here suddenly seems damn steep. Things in Taiwan is considerably cheaper man. Haha.

Now to enjoy my 9 days break from the Army. Oh but then again, got quite some things to do these few days. Haha. Interviews and stuff. Start booking my BTT. I don't know. Good break from the repetitive and boring regimentation of the Army. Haha. 8 Months to go!

Friday, February 27, 2009

Another month is coming to an end.. And yes im leaving for taiwan this monday le. Its gonna be a pretty long trip, 26 days to be exact. But im sure it's gonna be a really meaningful and fun trip. Haha. Have been wanting to go taiwan for quite some time. But since i've got the chance now so great! Haha.

Oh i got update from ucas today. Got accepted by university college london for chem engineering and by london school of economics for econs and maths. Haha. Still waiting for imperial. Really hope to get in. But then again its just the first step. Next up, scholarships and funding. So tedious! Haha.

Today supposed to be unit cohesion day, but had to send kit bag at sgc. So missed it. But then again i got a free movie voucher. Even better. Lol. Anyways warrant officers sure know how to talk. They can talk from like 8am to 12pm. Knockout! Haha. Ok back to the issue. The rest gt to book out thursday afternoon. Left me, maurice n jx in bunk. Lol. Oh so we went out with the support guys to the chevrons to sing k! Haha. It was really cheap! 8bucks per person for 3hours of singing leh. Damn shuang. Anyways had a really good time. Bt sad that i have to book in that nite. Haha.

Ok thats about it for now. Haha. Chow!

Sunday, February 15, 2009

Haven't blogged in quite a while. Have been busy with quite some stuff. Hmm.. where shall I start. Went singing last Sunday with vin, 1e and john. Haha. Has been quite some time since I last sang. Haha. Then went to shop a while before going home for dinner with my family and bro's girlfriend. Haha. She's left to study at the University of Sydney le. Health Science scholarship wor. Haha. Quite pro. Anyways hope they turn out well and fine.

Oh and I finally changed my phone. LOL. Went to recontract with Singtel and since I'm an NSF, they gave me this Nokia E51 free. Haha. Good to be an NSF sometimes. All the perks and discounts. Haha. But then again, I don't want to remain an NSF! Haha. Wanna get out of the Army ASAP man. Haha. Oh and I'm going TAIWAN! haha. All I can say that I'm attached to ATI STW. Haha. Ex. Starlight. Not much an exercise that involves me, I'm going there to do rubbish and waste time. Haha. But I love it. I wanna go for the R&R! Wanted to go Taiwan after I ORD, but since the opportunity came, might as well go now. Haha.

Counting down.. 302 days left! Haha. That may seem like a big number. But do the math.. I've got 14 days leave, 3.5 days off, plus 26 days in Taiwan, plus around 4 days off from Taiwan = 255 days only! Ahah. Good good. I kinda look forward to another overseas exercise after this (maybe australia again? I seriously don't mind.) Haha. These trips are pretty enjoyable.

Anyways have been busy this week applying for scholarships and stuff. Back to this boring and tedious job of applying and applying. Damn sian. Anyways for me, it doesn't really bother me as much. If I get it, I would probably go UK to study. If I don't, I will just settle for NUS. Haha. Nothing much to lose. Anyway, I applied for Firefly Scholarship (EDB), PSC Scholarship and NUS scholarships. Haha. 3 is enough to make my head spin. All the personal statements, tutor recommendations, family particulars. OMG. They're such a torture. Then after this would be interviews, interviews and more interviews. Haiz. What have I got myself into? Headache.

Just came back from Parkway. Haha. Went there to buy a new book, entitled "The Age of Turbulence" by Alan Greenspan. Very economics kind of book, but I guess it will be pretty useful to read up, with all the economic crisis going on today. Haha. Also bought 方大同's CD - Orange Moon. Critics have pretty good ratings for it. So I wanna see if it's really that good. Haha.

2 weeks to Taiwan! And when I'm back, alot of things are gonna happen.
